Miley Cyrus has apologised for her rant at London's G-A-Y club at the weekend.

The 21-year-old singer, who dedicated her hit 'Wrecking Ball' to "all the motherf***ers that broke my heart", telling the crowd one particular boy could "suck my fat d**k", also insisted the foul-mouthed tirade wasn't directed at ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth.

She took to Twitter yesterday to clear the air and claimed she was just trying to "rile up" the crowd and was "too turnttttt up."

Miley posted: "Just FYI what I said the other night at G.A.Y had nothing to do with Liam. I was just tryin to rile up the boys.

"I don't usually respond to tabloidy stuff but this isn't something I want being spread around. It sounded hateful but not what I meant.

"I never want hateful things being said about those I care about... I was just tooooo turnttttt up. (sic)"

The controversial pop star, who was also seen playing with a giant blow-up penis at the gig, split from 'Hunger Games' star Liam in September last year after four years together and has since been romantically linked to actor Kellan Lutz and rapper Mike Will Made It, who worked on her latest album 'Bangerz'.

After clearing things up on Twitter, Miley then went on to celebrate her mother Tish's 54th birthday and posted a series of photographs of the two of them relaxing and sipping martinis in Glasgow, Scotland, and wearing face paint and animal masks.
