Michele 'grateful for support' in time of grief

Lea Michele is "deeply grateful" for the support she has received since the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, from a lethal overdose.

The 'Glee' star, 26, who had been dating her co-star for just over a year, has been grieving with the 31-year-old actor's family since his body was discovered in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday, and they are now preparing funeral arrangements.

A spokesperson for the actress told E! News: "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans.

"Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them.

"They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."

The British Columbia Coroners Service claims that toxicological analysis has shown that the actor, who left rehab in April after voluntarily checking in there for a month, died from "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol."

Law enforcement sources also told gossip website TMZ.com: "There was evidence in the room that was consistent of a drug overdose."

The Canadian star, who first sought treatment in rehab when he was 19, was very open about his struggles with addiction in the past and admitted he took "anything and everything, as much as possible."
