Maynard makes 'X Factor' prediction

Conor Maynard has tipped James Arthur to win 'X Factor'.

The 'Can't Say No' singer is backing the 23-year-old pop hopeful from Middlesbrough to win the latest series of the singing competition.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "He's an incredible singer. If he can do that, if he could win, it would be amazing."

James, mentored by Nicole Scherzinger, previously won the praise of singers such as Emeli Sande, Labrinth and Ed Sheeran.

Conor is also keen to collaborate with James once he has finished on the show.

He said: "If I could collaborate with him that would be amazing. I think he's got a very different, cool voice, so that would be really cool."

Despite being a fan of the series, the 19-year-old singer admitted being "put off" auditioning for the show himself.

He added: "I know this girl that was an incredible singer from Brighton and she went into 'The X Factor' like four times and she never got through the first round. I was a bit like, 'I don't want to go there and be disheartened if they don't like me.'

"It's definitely a massive platform for artists. It's really blown some people up. One Direction are probably the biggest act in the world right now and they came through that, so it can definitely create massive careers."

Conor Maynard will be performing a concert for an anticipated 15,000 fans and switching on the Bluewater Christmas Lights from 5.30pm on Friday 16th November.
