Man shot dead at T.I. concert

One person has been killed and another three injured after they were shot inside a concert venue in New York City where rapper T.I. was due to perform.

The shooting happened around 10:15pm local time last night at Irving Plaza, near Manhattan's Union Square.

No arrests have been made.

A concertgoer said T.I. was supposed to take the stage around 9pm or 9:30pm, but never appeared.

Representatives for T.I. - whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr - are referring all questions about the shooting to police.

Irving Plaza is a 1,025-person ballroom-style music venue.

Police had earlier said a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach, and were both in hospital in critical condition.

A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg, and a fourth person walked into hospital on their own.
