Look who MTV are bringing to Cork

MTV and Cork City Council have finally announced that Jessie Ware and electro duo Gorgon City will be coming to Cork, later this month.

The two fresh acts will come together for an intimate 'Other Voices style' show in the City Hall on November 27.

Gorgon City have been making waves in the charts this year, and tipped by many as the electro act of 2015.

Before the release of their Top Ten album ‘Sirens’ in October they had already produced Jess Glynne’s single ‘Right Here’, had a Top Five release with ‘Ready For Your Love’ featuring MNEK, remixed ‘Back To The Wild’ by Basement Jaxx and collaborated with the Klaxons for ‘There Is No Other Time’.

And we just love their single ‘Go All Night’ which features Dreamgirls superstar Jennifer Hudson.

“It’s incredible to be invited to play at MTV Crashes Cork, we’re going to make it a night to remember," Kye Gibbon of Gorgon City has said.

"We can’t wait to see Jessie performing too, she is a good mate of ours and we have collaborated in the past so we’re really excited about sharing the stage with her."

Jessie Ware has previously been nominated for two BRIT Awards, Breakthrough and British Female, and for the Mercury Music Prize.

“Crashing Cork with MTV is going to be gorgeous," siad Jessie.

"I love an intimate show, it always feels really special. I've never been, but seeing as my grandfather lived there, it’s hopefully going to feel like a second home,”

The event will be broadcast in 60 countries to an estimated 29 million people on December 12 and is one of the biggest media partnership deals secured in Ireland this year.

Tickets will be available on mtv.co.uk/cork and www.CorkMusicTrail.com for €3.50 and will be available from 1pm, November 13.

We've got a feeling this will be a "I seen them in Cork first" sort of gig, so get yout tickets now!
