Lohan 'getting special treatment' in jail

Lindsay Lohan has been receiving special treatment in prison, it has been claimed.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star began her 90-day sentence at the Century Regional Correctional Facility in Lynwood, California last Tuesday and though inmates are required to remove hair extensions and false eyelashes on arrival to the jail, the 24-year-old actress was allowed to keep hers.

Alexis Neiers – who was in the cell next to the actress – said: "When she came in, she had her head down when she walked by but she was in oranges, just like us.

"She got to keep her extensions in and everything, which most people don't, and the girls were like: 'Ah, they had to take my weave out and cut it all out,' stuff like that.”

Neiers – who was released from prison on Friday after serving a 30-day sentence for burgling Orlando Bloom’s house – admitted she did not have any direct contact with Lohan, but could hear her crying in her cell.

She said in an interview with E! News: "She was crying. She was talking to deputies and, you know, just trying to - I couldn't really like make it out, but from what I saw the first day, she was lying in there and trying to calm down."

Neiers advised Lohan to stay strong in order to “get through” the remainder of her sentence.

She added: "I wish her the best, honestly, but you know, it's all up to your mindset, and I don't know what her mindset is in there.

“From what I understand, she was having medical attention and I'm sure she was just trying to get through the days. It’s hard."

Although Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in prison for breaching the terms of probation she was set following a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction, the actress is expected to be released before the end of the month.

After leaving jail, the troubled star must then undertake a court-ordered 90-day stint in a rehabilitation facility.
