WATCH: Lenny Kravitz flashes crowd full-frontal as trousers split

Lenny Kravitz's trousers split open on stage on Monday, exposing himself to the crowd.

The 51-year-old rocker was left red-faced following his performance in Stockholm, Sweden, when his leather trousers ripped open along the crotch revealing he was wearing no underwear and showing his bare genitalia to thousands of fans.

The 'Fly Away' hitmaker quickly realised he had accidentally flashed the crowd and rushed off stage to change into a new pair of trousers while a producer apologised for the delay in the concert.

One fan who was at the gig told local newspaper Expressen: "The producer stepped up and said that they had 'some problems on stage'. A bit later Kravitz came out wearing other trousers. He said 'Sorry, I ripped my trousers'.

"It was insane, I killed myself laughing. And then I called my mum who was there at the show as well. Her reaction was the same and she almost killed herself laughing too."

However, Lenny - who has 26-year-old daughter Zoe Kravitz - has since made light of the incident on Twitter by posting a screenshot of a message from Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler about the incident along with the hashtag "#penisgate".

In the message, Steven wrote: "Dude... No underwear and pierced. F**k me.. You never showed me that s**t."
