Tom Jones believes Simon Cowell is too focused on looks.
The 'Voice' coach does not believe the 'X Factor' judge is too good at picking talent because he will always focus on their appearance over their singing abilities.
He said: "Not to put Simon Cowell down. But here's the thing. I remember there was a girl in one of his US shows, a couple of years ago now, and she was all over the place.
"You know she sang a song in three different bloody keys. That's how off she was.
"But he liked the way she looked and the way she moved and he said: 'You're a star'. And Paula Abdul said: 'Simon, she's out of tune'.
"'Well who cares about that?' is what he said."
Discussing his own music, Jones admits he is no longer chasing chart success.
He told The Times: "With these songs now, I'm not chasing charts. If it comes, it comes. When 'Praise and Blame' first came out. It was number two. If it hadn't been for bloody Eminem it would have been number one!"
