The former 'Coronation Street' beauty was reportedly two weeks over her due date but gave birth to her and boyfriend Scott Sinclair's healthy baby yesterday.
A pal told The Sun newspaper: "Helen gave birth on Monday in Birmingham, and she is still there recovering. It is hoped that she'll be back home in a day or so.
"It is very exciting for them, and both their families."
No other details about the baby have been released yet.
Helen was expected to have the child in mid-June but after the date passed, doctors agreed to induce her.
A source added: "Helen was hoping to have the baby naturally, but the doctors decided it was best to induce. She is exhausted but doing well."
Meanwhile, Helen previously admitted she was the "happiest I've ever been" and her and Scott were considering marriage in the future.
She said: "We'll definitely get married at some point. Scott knows what type of ring I want - one with a huge rock on it."
