Gallagher dismisses Oasis anniversary get-together rumours

Noel Gallagher insists Oasis won't reunite for their 20th anniversary.

The guitarist - whose departure from the group caused their demise in August 2009 - dismissed speculation the 'Supersonic' hitmakers will get back together for the milestone in 2014, insisting it would only happen if he or his brother, singer Liam, had no money left.

He said: "It would take Liam or myself to be very skint and I know that is not going to happen.

"The last time I saw Liam he didn't say much. The day will pass and people will realise the anniversary just has not happened."

Noel - who went on to create his solo project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds while the remaining members of Oasis formed Beady Eye - admitted he still has virtually no contact with Liam and the only time they have spoken was for the sake of their mother Peggy.

Speaking to Alan Carr on 'Chatty Man', he said: "Me and Liam have not spoken. I'm busy. We did text each other last Christmas because our mam made us.

"We are not a Christmas family. I hate Christmas. I am not a people person. Christmas and people wearing hats ... nah."
