Friday's TV tips

Home and Away – Ed Sheeran episode (RTE Two, 6.30pm)

In a special Home and Away event, world-renowned singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran sweeps Summer Bay off its feet.

‘Teddy’, one of the children Marilyn used to nanny in the UK, visits Australia and it turns out to be none other than Ed Sheeran, who treats Summer Bay to a very special performance.

Ed Sheeran filmed the scenes at iconic Home and Away locations in Palm Beach as well as Angelo’s and the Diner in Summer Bay.

RWC Bronze Final (TV3, 7pm)

The two beaten semi-finalists, South Africa and Argentina, meet at London’s Olympic Stadium looking for a third-place finish at Rugby World Cup 2015.

Matt Cooper introduces the action with analysis Keith Wood and Matt Williams.

Balletboyz at the Roundhouse (BBC4, 8pm)

BalletBoyz is a 10-strong, all male, world class modern dance troupe currently touring shows internationally.

This documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the staging of their award-winning production Serpent/Fallen at London’s Roundhouse during the summer of 2014.

The performance includes Liam Scarlett’s work Serpent with Max Richter’s music and Russell Maliphant’s award-winning work Fallen with music by Armand Amar, both pieces played live by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Celebrity Juice (3e, 9pm)

Comedy panel show which sees Radio One DJ Fearne Cotton going up against TV presenter Holly Willoughby to see who knows the most about this week's celebrity news.

Presiding over the proceedings is the inimitable and outrageous host Keith Lemon.

Stoker (Film4, 9pm)

(2013) South Korean director Park Chan-wook makes his impressive English-language debut with this erotically charged gothic fairytale.

Mia Wasikowska is mesmerising as sullen teenager India Stoker, whose father perishes in a freak car accident.

The teenager is consumed by grief and retreats into her fantasy world of memories, occasionally coaxed back into the land of the living by the family’s benevolent housekeeper (Phyllis Somerville).

Seductive uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), who has been abroad, returns to the fold and inveigles his way into the affections of India’s mother Evelyn (Nicole Kidman).

The Kennedys (BBC1, 9.30pm)

This 1970s-set sitcom continues with Tony determined that everything will go according to plan on Jenny and Tim’s wedding day.

Emma is the happy couple’s bridesmaid, but seems keener to take part in the annual Jessop Square North v Jessop Square South grudge football match.

However, that is the least of her father’s problems as an accident befalls the dress just two hours before the ceremony resulting in the garment being ripped in two.

Not only that, but the groom is overcome with nerves. Dan Skinner, Emma Pierson, Lucy Hutchinson and Harry Peacock star.

The Graham Norton Show (BBC1, 10.35pm)

Maggie Smith can be seen next month in The Lady in the Van, written by her old friend Alan Bennett and based on his own experiences with an eccentric woman who set up camp on his driveway.

She will be joined by her co-star Alex Jennings as well as Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Cindy Crawford and Justin Bieber.

American Mary (Film4, 11.00pm)

Girls just wanna have flesh-ripping fun in this blood-drenched cautionary tale of female empowerment that begs fascinating questions about the nature of true beauty in a youth-obsessed modern society.

Canadian siblings Jen and Sylvia Soska – aka The Twisted Twins – come on leaps and bounds from their low-budget debut Dead Hooker In A Trunk, showing admirable restraint with the gore as their plucky heroine, gifted surgical student Mary Mason (Katharine Isabelle), uses her medical expertise to modify and enhance the physical attributes of clientele who orbit a sleazy strip club run by Billy Barker (Antonio Cupo).

Isabelle’s impressive lead performance exposes the woodenness of the supporting cast but the script is solid throughout and the tone remains deliciously dark and demented.
