Former Spice Girl's single sells less than 400 copies

Geri Halliwell's latest single has flopped in Australia, selling less than 400 copies.

The former Spice Girls singer signed a six-figure record deal with Sony Australia, but has sold just 393 copies of her track 'Half Of Me' in the country, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.

The 'Australia's Got Talent' judge, 41, went up against her talent show rival Dami Im - winner of the fifth series of 'X Factor' Australia - who debuted at number one, selling 44,025 copies of her single 'Alive'.

In contrast, Halliwell appeared in the official ARIA charts at number 281.

The budget video for the single was described as "cheesy" and showed mum-of-one Halliwell dancing with giant teddy bears, mimicking pop star Miley Cyrus.

Lyrics in the song include: "I wanna have your babies, gotta have you like crazy".

Footage of Halliwell singing the song live last month went viral but she was mocked for sounding out of tune.

Halliwell has been trying to revive her career off the back of her judging role on 'Australia's Got Talent'.

'Half of Me' was written with producers DNA Songs, who have penned hits for big Australian stars Timomatic and were also, ironically, behind Dami Im's 'Alive'.
