Director Stephen Daldry says he's not holding out much hope of winning the Best Picture Oscar tomorrow for his film 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close'.
The movie is up against films including 'The Artist', 'The Descendants', 'The Help' and 'Moneyball', which stars Brad Pitt.
Daldry has won Academy Awards in the past for 'The Hours'.
He said the Artist looked like a safe bet for the gong.
"I really enjoyed The Help (but) The Tree of life is so fantastic and Moneyball is gorgeous film-making. In reality, whatever you think the best film is, what's going to win (the Oscar) is 'The Artist'."
'The Artist' began what is sure to be an amazing weekend for the silent black and white movie by picking up six trophies at the Cesar Awards in France yesterday.
The Oscar favourite claimed the Best French Film of the Year and the Best Director prize.
The film has now picked up more than 70 accolades around the world to become the most awarded French film in history.
Meanwhile, comic Sacha Baron Cohen has threatened to attend the Oscars dressed as a fictional military dictator.
He released a video online as part of a stunt to promote his new film in which he plays a dictator.
British actress Julie Ormond says she's looking forward to see his outfit on the red carpet.
"I think he's brilliant," she said. "He could arrive in a g-string and I'd be very happy."
