Norwich director Delia Smith has denied reports she is quitting her job as a celebrity chef to concentrate solely on her work at Carrow Road.

Some reports have suggested Smith, joint majority shareholder at the First Division club, intends to forgo any future television series’ or books to spend more time on her City duties.

But Smith said: “I’m getting a bit like Frank Sinatra with all these farewell comments.

“I’m now at the grand old age of 61 and I want to do what I want to do. Now it doesn’t mean I’m hanging up my apron, it means I’ll do what I want to do.

“There’ll be books and I’m not saying there will never be any more TV.”
