Delevingne makes young rich list

Model turned actress Cara Delevingne has become the highest new entry in an annual list of the UK's wealthy young stars.

The 22-year-old – whose latest film The Face of an Angel is inspired by the trial of Amanda Knox – is estimated to have amassed earnings of £7.49m, according to Heat magazine Rich List of under 30s.

Chart-topping stars One Direction retain their position at number one with a combined fortune of £77.52m according to the magazine, having piled on £18.19m over the past 12 months.

Delevingne makes the list – which is published today – at number 21, while fellow catwalk star Lily Cole is a another high ranking new entry at number 30, with £6.2m.

Runner-up in the list is Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, a non-mover who is estimated to have earned £63.56m, while his colleague Emma Watson - who played Hermione Granger is at six with £31.65m and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) slips to eighth with £27.33m.

The list, in its fourth year, has been assembled after analysing financial dealings for TV, movies, record sales and endorsements.

Heat’s editor-in-chief Lucie Cave said: “It must be dreadful for the young celebrities of Britain being not only talented and beautiful but filthy rich as well. The least we can do is give them a round of applause for bearing their burden with such grace.”

Robert Pattinson and Keira Knightley remain at three and four, while Adele completes the top five, rising one position from last year’s number six.
