Corry's O'Brien and Thomas split up

‘Coronation Street’ actors Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas have split up.

‘Coronation Street’ actors Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas have split up.

The couple - who met when they played on-screen lovers Sarah-Louise Platt and Jason Grimshaw on the ITV soap – have reportedly ended their six-year relationship after a series of arguments.

A source told The People newspaper: “Their on-screen relationship and their off-set one isn't much different.

“They bicker and shout. It's a terrible end to their relationship.”

Tina and Ryan began dating in 2003 and have a daughter Scarlett, born in October last year.

Tension between the couple - including a fight over an alleged infidelity - recently came to a head after Ryan, 25, was questioned by police over an early morning car crash.

Tina, 26, was said to be “absolutely livid” after Ryan’s Chrysler collided with a lamp-post in Manchester at 4am last Saturday, though he was not driving at the time.

Police arrested another man and charged him with driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

A source said: “Tina was furious when she found out about the crash. She believes he hasn't grown up since having the baby and still acts like a jack-the-lad.”

The crash came just days after Ryan got his driving licence back following a 21-day ban for speeding at 110mph on the M6 motorway.

Tina - who is rumoured to be returning to ‘Coronation Street’ next year for its 50th anniversary - has moved out of the family home in Cheshire with Scarlett and changed her Facebook relationship status to ‘single’.
