George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin had a second opportunity to say “I do” when they celebrated a civil ceremony in a historic palace along Venice’s Grand Canal.
The couple tied the knot two days earlier in Venice in a private ceremony attended by celebrity friends and family. Today, they followed up with a required civil procedure before Italian authorities.
The newlyweds arrived by water taxi. Clooney looked dapper in grey suit and matching tie, while the bride wore a cream short-sleeved jacket with palazzo trousers and a matching wide-brimmed hat.
They turned to wave at hundreds of people who had waited for hours for their arrival, before Clooney ushered his wife inside.
They emerged 20 minutes later with former Rome mayor Walter Veltroni, who performed both ceremonies.
