Bynes 'back in rehab'

Amanda Bynes has reportedly checked into rehab after leaving hospital.

The troubled actress has allegedly been staying at Malibu treatment facility The Canyon for the past three weeks after being temporarily discharged from the UCLA Medical Center, where she was receiving psychiatric treatment for her erratic behaviour in recent months.

Amanda was initially committed to hospital after being arrested on suspicion of setting fire to the driveway of a stranger's home in Thousand Oaks, California, during which she allegedly doused her pet pooch in gasoline by accident and set fire to her own trouser leg.

TMZ is reporting the 'She's The Man' actress is "still in a desperate state" and sources are worries she isn't being given the correct psychiatric treatment she needs under her special hold, called an LPS.

The website states: "She interacts with people very little and rarely leaves the area where she's living. Amanda is not wearing her wig and is 'paranoid' the paparazzi will find her."

Past reports suggested the 27-year-old actress could remain in involuntary psychiatric hold until 2015 because of her troubling antics, which included abusing fellow stars on Twitter by branding them "ugly", wearing a multitude of wigs, and throwing a bong out of the window when the police searched her New York City apartment.

A source previously said: "There are no drug problems involved, it's all mental. She has deep anger and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which tripped a psychotic episode… She is very ill, but manageable.

"Amanda genuinely wants to get better and has wanted to get better for some time."
