Kathryn Bigelow is working on a movie about the death of Osama bin Laden.
The al-Qaeda terror chief was killed by security forces in Pakistan on Sunday and while Kathryn and her 'The Hurt Locker' screenwriter Mark Boal have been planning a film about the hunt for the fugitive for some time, they had planned to base it on the Navy SEAL (Sea, Air and Land) team who eventually killed the criminal mastermind.
Mark has been following the elite unit for some time and writing a film script on their activities and is now planning a rewrite to include details of the raid on the compound in Pakistan where Bin Laden was eventually found and shot.
Casting is currently underway for the movie with shooting expected to begin this summer once locations have been finalised.
Kathryn and Mark are currently working on the Tom Hanks-starring 'Triple Frontier'.
The title refers to the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil which is a hotspot for organised crime and, according to the US treasury department, a possible centre for Islamist terrorism activity in South America.
