Band Aid - Irish style

Irish TV presenter Síle Seoige has roped in an array of her celebrity friends to follow in Bob Geldof’s footsteps and record a Christmas charity single.

The new track Maybe This Christmas - written by Brian Flanagan - will raise money for ISPCC Childline and the Make a Wish Foundation.

Irish celebs such as Mary Black, Brian Kennedy, Kathryn Thomas, Olympian Rob Heffernan, retired rugby player Shane Byrne, 2FM presenter Paddy McKenna and RTE weather woman Audrey McGrath are all among those whose who took part.

Seoige has her sights set on emulating Band Aid 30’s success for such a worthy cause.

Band Aid 30 reached the no.1 spot on the iTunes chart and raised a whopping €1.25m in just five minutes.
