Ant and Dec to get their own sitcom

The presenting duo have landed their own 'Friends'-style TV show called 'This Is Us', set to be filmed in front of a live studio audience in London.

The ITV show is being billed as a "heightened version" of the Geordie stars' real lives in the showbiz industry, and a host of famous faces have already been lined up to make cameo appearances.

The loveable chums will film the pilot episode before the end of the year.

Ant McPartlin told the Daily Star newspaper: "We've talked a lot about the future this year. We love 'I'm A Celebrity', 'Britain's Got Talent', 'Saturday Night Takeaway', but they're all live shows.

"The difference between doing a live show and a sitcom is that a sitcom can live on. If you do it well, it can leave a legacy, whereas most of our live work never gets repeated because it's final, it's done, you start again."

The pair are currently in Australia ahead of the new series of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', which will see the likes of Westlife singer Kian Egan, snooker legend Steve Davis, Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter and 'The Only Way is Essex' lothario Joey Essex face their biggest fears in the jungle.
