X Factor hopefuls come to blows
04/09/2010 - 09:23:12Temper tantrums are nothing new on 'The X-Factor', but tonight’s show takes things to a whole new level when two contestants come to blows on stage.
Viewers will see the pair, Abbey Johnston and Lisa Parker, storm off stage to a chorus of boos before they even get as far as singing.
But eventually they come back and try to wow the judges with their version of Shayne Ward’s 'That’s My Goal'.
It does not go down well and Lisa responds to some gentle criticism from guest judge Natalie Imbruglia by demanding: “Who are you, may I ask?”.
Judge Simon Cowell takes the pair to task, telling them they have “the worst attitude” of any contestants ever and things go from bad to worse as Abbey lashes out at Lisa before leaving the stage.
A show spokesman said producers broke up the “heated” dispute during auditions at Birmingham’s LG Arena in June.
Abbey said she lashed out at her friend after Lisa falsely claimed she had the hots for judge Louis Walsh.
There are stormy times too for one contestant who annoys Cowell when he admits to changing his name for a more rock ’n’ roll version.
Storm Lee, or Lee Gardner as he was once known, came all the way from Los Angeles in a bid to make his name.
But Cowell clearly isn’t impressed, telling him: “I’m not going to call you Storm anymore, because I think it’s a stupid name.”
And there is a famous name on the show when Cher Lloyd turns up to perform.
The 16-year-old, named after the US singing star, from Malvern in Worcestershire, impresses Cheryl Cole with her version of Soulja Boy’s 'Turn My Swag On', with the Girls Aloud star telling her: “You are right up my street. You are actually my favourite audition so far. Little bit of attitude there, I like it.”
There is also an appearance by a French version of Jedward.
Twem, made up of twins Samir and Medhi, travel all the way from Paris to tackle Lady Gaga’s 'Bad Romance'.
Last year Irish twins John and Edward Grimes became a surprise hit with viewers with their wonky vocals, huge quiffs and over-the-top routines.
Pixie Lott will appear in next week’s show as she joins the judging panel in Cardiff.
