Williams proposal 'was a joke'
27/11/2009 - 11:36:54It turns out Robbie Williams was telling porkies when he proposed to girlfriend Ayda Field live on Australian radio.
The ‘Bodies’ singer was on the 'Kyle and Jackie O' breakfast show on Sydney's 2DayFM to promote his new album ‘Reality Killed the Video Star’ when he popped the question.
Field, 30, was in the studio with him when Jackie asked Robbie if there was any news he wanted to share.
The British singer turned to Field and said: "Is there anyone you want to get married to? Will you marry me?"
Field – who has been dating the 'Angels' singer for the past two years - said yes.
Williams had not prepared for the proposal however, and had to slip Jackie's ring onto her finger.
But the former Take That man's people say the proposal was "a joke".
