The Incredibles' naming dilemma
14/11/2004 - 13:04:16Choosing the names for The Incredibles' numerous superheroes proved to be a difficult task for the film's creators.
Every time they thought of a suitably impressive name, they would discover it had already been used for a character in another obscure comic book.
Director Brad Bird recalls: "You'd think you were inventing a name, and then you'd do a little record search and someone, somewhere printed 10 issues of something where they had a character named blah blah blah.
"We'd go: 'Well, I never heard of it before', and we'd have to think of something else. That was kind of maddening."
