Bohemians had defender Jason McGuinness sent off as this Dublin derby failed to deliver any kind of spectacle to a big Dalymount Park crowd.
Saints Anto Murphy wasted the best opening of the first half on 28 minutes.
Paul Keegan then missed a sitter on 63 minutes before being involved on the only real talking point of the match ten minutes from time.
McGuinness clattered into the Saints' striker and was rightly dismissed.
