Stars come out for Cowell's birthday bash
03/10/2009 - 21:32:01A roll call of celebrities attended a lavish 50th birthday party for TV and music mogul Simon Cowell tonight.
Around 400 guests were driven through the tall iron gates of Palladian mansion Wrotham Park for the black tie bash, which was thought to have cost £1m (€1.09m).
Supermodel Kate Moss reportedly sang a birthday tribute during the after-dinner cabaret, while other performers included Cowell’s proteges Westlife, Il Divo and Leona Lewis.
Among the guests spotted entering the grounds of the Hertfordshire mansion were supermodel Naomi Campbell, 'X Factor' winner Alexandra Burke, singers Cheryl Cole and Myleene Klass, film director Michael Winner, TV presenter Holly Willoughby and chef Gordon Ramsay.
Cowell’s fellow 'X Factor' judge Dannii Minogue, 'Britain’s Got Talent' judge Amanda Holden, former 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Arlene Phillips and rocker Ozzy Osbourne were also seen.
Cowell’s PR man Max Clifford waved at the crowd of onlookers who were assembled at the gates in the hope of catching a glimpse of the stars.
Pictures showed a huge marquee had been put up in the grounds of the mansion and attractions reportedly include troupes of dancing girls and a Frank Sinatra-style singer.
