SF’s Gerry Kelly warned of fresh dissident death threat
08/12/2006 - 11:02:00The PSNI has informed Sinn Féin's Gerry Kelly of a fresh threat to his life from dissident republicans.
Mr Kelly revealed today that he had been made aware in recent days that dissidents were planning to attack him in the near future.
The threat is believed to come from disaffected IRA members who have left the organisation in recent months.
Mr Kelly is Sinn Féin's policing spokesman and the new threat comes as the party prepares to endorse the PSNI as part of moves to restore power-sharing government at Stormont.
