SF denies McDowell IRA claims
17/10/2004 - 16:00:50Sinn Féin's Mitchel McLaughlin has accused the Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, of talking “rubbish about Sinn Féin”.
Mr McLaughlin was responding to claims made by Mr McDowell this morning on the radio that he knows of direct links between senior Sinn Féin figures and the IRA.
Mr McLaughlin said that Sinn Féin was “completely and totally wedded to peaceful and democratic means of addressing our issues”.
He described Minister McDowell’s claims as “propaganda and abuse of office”.
