Security guard robbed at gunpoint
06/07/2005 - 23:27:32A security guard was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man tonight as he carried a cash box to his vehicle.
The robber, who was wearing a white boiler suit with the hood up, approached the man as he left a shopping centre in Craigavon, Co Armagh, shortly after 6pm.
He ordered the guard to drop the box and escaped in a waiting metallic grey Ford Mondeo.
Police declined to say how much money was in the box but said it was a “substantial sum”.
The spokesman said the suspect was 6ft 2in to 6ft 4in.
The driver of the getaway car was in his late 20s to early 30s with cropped, light coloured hair. He was wearing a blue or grey shirt.
