Richardson blasts ref's performance after defeat
16/05/2005 - 22:14:42Cork City manager Damien Richardson blasted referee John Feighery following his side's 1-0 defeat by Portadown in the Setanta Cup.
Needing a victory to book a place in the Setanta Cup final, Cork lost despite Portadown playing the final 55 minutes of the game with only 10 men following the dismissal of goalscorer Gary Hamilton.
Richardson said: "We have had some strange decisions from referees and we had the same tonight. He let a lot go early on and lost control and the result of that was he had to send off a player who didn't deserve to be sent off.
"I was disappointed with the referee's performance but I can't make excuses for our defeat."
