Relkeel option for Zaynar
22/11/2009 - 12:54:05Nicky Henderson’s Zaynar could head for the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham following his emphatic victory at Ascot yesterday.
Last season’s Triumph Hurdle hero took his 100% record over obstacles to four by beating more experienced rivals in convincing style in the Coral Ascot Hurdle.
A trip to Prestbury Park on December 12 could now be on the agenda.
“I suppose the obvious race to look at would probably be the Relkeel at Cheltenham because it’s for second season novices,” said Henderson.
“Yesterday was good and he’s fine this morning.”
Zaynar earned quotes of 8-1 for the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle, a race for which Henderson has an abundance of talent, and 6-1 for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.
The Seven Barrows trainer also reported his Hennessy Gold Cup candidate Barbers Shop and WBX.COM Fighting Fifth Hurdle hopeful Binocular to be in good shape ahead of their engagements.
“They are both fine and we have a big weekend coming up,” he added.
