Racing figures take UK panel places
24/06/2009 - 18:52:04British Horseracing Authority chief executive Nic Coward is one of number of racing-related figures to be appointed to a British government panel on sports betting integrity.
The panel, which will bring together representatives from the UK's betting industry, the police, players, fans, sports governing bodies, the legal profession and the Gambling Commission, will address issues threatening the integrity of sport.
Coward is one of the 13-strong team along with BHA independent director Ben Gunn, Mark Davies from Betfair, Ladbrokes’ Mike O’Kane, Mike Smith from the Tote and Bill South, who is currently director of security at William Hill but used to work for the BHA.
Rick Parry, chief executive of Liverpool Football Club, has been appointed as chair of the panel.
