Near Dark a clever vampire flick

Near Dark (Optimum, €24.99) is a vampire tale with a western twist that marked the arrival of Katheryn Bigelow (think Blue Steel and Point Break).

Caleb Colton (Adrian Pasdar) falls for the lovely Mae (Jenny Wright), only to discover she’s a member of a pack of vampires led by the evil Severn (Bill Paxton).

It’s a clever film that hints of promise.
