Misdiagnosed coma victim 'was conscious for 23 years'
23/11/2009 - 10:11:07A man thought to be in a coma for 23 years was actually conscious the whole time.
Rom Houben from Belgium was misdiagnosed after a car crash.
He had been left totally paralysed so had no way of letting his family know he could hear everything they said.
The 46-year old, who can now tap out computerised messages, said: "I screamed, but there was nothing to hear."
