Kenny: Govt won't listen to Budget alternatives

12/11/2009 - 16:21:48

The Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has said the Government is refusing to listen to any alternative ideas in next month's Budget.

The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan is expected to confirm the need to introduce the toughest budget in decades when he delivers his pre-Budget outlook later this afternoon.

Next week the Fine Gael leader will meet with Brian Cowen to put forward his party's pre-Budget proposals.

Speaking at the Working Together Conference in Waterford this afternoon, Deputy Kenny said Fine Gael has solid ways of getting out of the economic mess.
