Kenny: Government plan for Anglo 'half-baked'

09/09/2010 - 15:30:14

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has today accused the Government of having a 'half-baked' plan regarding Anglo Irish Bank.

Yesterday, the Government announced it was splitting Anglo into a deposit bank and an asset recovery bank to work out bad loans over 10 to 15 years.

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan says the process could take 15 years, and has promised the final bill should be known by the end of next month.

"The decision that you’ve had yesterday is a half-baked plan again which doesn’t save the taxpayer any money," insisted Kenny.
