Israel approves deeper Gaza incursion
05/07/2006 - 10:55:58Israel’s Security Cabinet today approved a deeper military incursion into the Gaza Strip after Palestinian militants fired a rocket at a major Israeli city.
The army has been given the green light to enter residential areas, but the army will not reoccupy the Gaza Strip, an official at the meeting said
Ground troops entered Gaza last week after Palestinian militants captured an Israeli soldier.
