Gardaí appeal for raid witnesses
25/03/2005 - 12:27:41Gardaí are asking anyone who saw an armed raid at a supermarket in Co Kildare last night to come forward.
Up to 100 customers were at the Tesco store in Newbridge at around 8.30pm last night when two men wearing motorcycle helmets entered.
They were armed with a sawn-off shotgun and a hammer. They threatened staff and demanded cash. The pair, who are thought to be from Dublin, left with around €800.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
