Joe Gantley and Ger Farragher were to the fore as Galway booked a Walsh Cup final berth against Dublin, following a close-run 1-22 to 2-16 win over Offaly in Tullamore this afternoon.
Gantley scored 1-5, with Farragher adding ten points as John McIntyre's charges withstood a strong second-half comeback from the hosts.
Ger Healion netted the opening goal of the game for Offaly in the 22nd minute, but Gantley's effort, eight minutes later, handed his side a 1-11 to 1-6 break lead.
Healion, Ger Oakley and Shane Dooley kept Offaly in touch during the opening half, and brought an improved performance on the restart.
Offaly cut the gap to three points ten minutes after the break, but Galway upped the ante to lead by 1-17 to 1-9 with 13 minutes remaining.
A Dooley goal sprung Offaly back to life as the game entered the 60th minute on a 1-19 to 2-12 scoreline.
But Galway were not to be denied, with James Skehill stopping an Eoin Kelly penalty and a late Cyril Donnellan point confirming the away victory.
