Gains for ISEQ as market closes
23/10/2007 - 17:42:26The ISEQ index was up 157.26 to 7802.06 as an optimistic day's trading came to a close this evening.
The financials did well overall, with Irish Life and Permanent leading the way soaring an impressive 82c to €15.68. Both AIB and Anglo Irish Bank gained 36c to €16.93 and €12.12 respectively. Bank of Ireland followed the positive trend up 18c to €11.96.
Elsewhere, technology giant Icon made the biggest gain of the day up €1.50 to €38.50.
The construction sector also had a strong showing today with Kingspan and CRH both doing well gaining 50c to €16.35 and €26 respectively.
Paddy Power also completed the day on a high gaining 25c to €27.10.
