Freeman and Damon hail Eastwood
09/12/2009 - 09:01:03Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon have praised Clint Eastwood for his directorial skills.
The pair - who star in his latest film ‘Invictus’, which tells the story of the South African rugby team and Nelson Mandela in the mid-90s – have suggested the screen legend’s ability to control a set was “incredible”.
Matt told About.com: “Clint just runs an incredibly tight ship. It’s very laid back but everybody, because we all have experience working on other movie sets, everyone is aware that they’ve been given enough space to do everything they need to do.
“It’s just very easy. We’ve been entrusted to do our jobs.”
Morgan added: “Everybody who works with him has the very same reaction to him, ‘Can I stay with you?’.”
The 72-year-old Hollywood actor – who plays the legendary politician in the film – recently revealed he felt “destined” to play the role.
He said: "I was sort of the chosen one, as it were. I expected that eventually I would play him."
