A Northern property developer who wants to build a new tourist centre at the Giant's Causeway has denied that he has any special relationship with DUP leader Ian Paisley or his son.

The local council and English Heritage are opposed to the plans by Seymour Sweeney, a member of the DUP, to build a new visitor centre at the world heritage site.

However, DUP Minister for Environment Arlene Foster has said she is "minded" to give Mr Sweeney permission for the project.

The scheme has attracted much controversy due to Mr Sweeney's links with the Paisleys and the DUP.

However, he says his relationship with the Paisleys is that of an ordinary constituent.
