Cross-border crime on seminar agenda

Cross-border crime will be discussed today at a major North-South police seminar in Dublin.

Senior officers from An Garda Siochana and the Police Service of Northern Ireland will attend the two-day event in Clontarf.

Several areas of organised crime will be discussed such as drugs trafficking, money laundering and the smuggling of oil, alcohol and tobacco.

Intellectual property crime and immigration-related offences will also be on the agenda.

Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy and PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde will both be present at the seminar.

Junior Justice Minister Frank Fahey and Northern Ireland Security Minister Shaun Woodward will also attend.
