Cork City 2 Sligo Rovers 0

Champions Cork City bounced back in style following two successive defeats to convincingly beat Sligo Rovers at Turner’s Cross.

Skipper Dan Murray led by example to head home Neale Fenn’s corner for the lead goal on seven minutes.

Fenn then ended the match as a contest when chipping home City’s second goal on 42 minutes after Denis Behan headed on Alan Bennett’s cross.

The win moves Cork back up to third place in the table.
