Aer Lingus staff plan strike

13/11/2007 - 07:23:08

A dispute at Aer Lingus is set to cause travel disruption at three airports next week.

SIPTU has served notice strike notice on the recently privatised airline as part of a row over inferior contracts being introduced for all new staff members.

The union is planning to stage rolling, four-hour work stoppages on Tuesday and Friday of next week.

Around 1,800 ground staff will be involved in the action at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

SIPTU is also threatening further action if the dispute is not settled by November 23.
