The ASTI has accepted peace proposals in the row over their 30% pay claim.

The ASTI has accepted peace proposals from the Labour Relations Commission in the row over their 30% pay claim.

Under the plan, the union is to enter into negotiations at the Labour Court in an effort to resolve the dispute.

Strike action that has hit secondary schools over the past few months will be suspended while the talks continue.

The announcement came after hours of discussion among the ASTI executive in Dublin.
