Gardai investigate infant's death

Gardai in Naas, Co Kildare are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a baby girl.

Gardai in Naas, Co Kildare are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a baby girl.

The 14-week-old infant became ill at her home in Clane Tuesday afternoon and was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital.

She was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where she died at around 8pm last night.

State Pathologist Dr John Harbison is due to carry out a post mortem on the child's body later today.
