Cars damaged as ferry hits rough seas

A car ferry travelling between Holyhead and Dublin was at the centre of an alert during overnight storms in the Irish Sea.

A car ferry travelling between Holyhead and Dublin was at the centre of an alert during overnight storms in the Irish Sea.

It is understood a number of vehicles were damaged on the car decks of the Stena Challenger as she battled through heavy seas.

The ferry docked safely in Dublin at about 1am. No injuries were reported.
