A new president for the Olympic Council of Ireland will be decided at its annual general meeting this evening.
It is expected to be a close battle to control the OCI, with long-standing president Pat Hickey doing battle with Richard Burrows.
The organisation has been embroiled in controversy in recent times after Ireland's abysmal performance in the Sydney Olympics and their clash with Sports Minister Jim McDaid.
Burrows has already been boosted by calls from Michael Carruth, Mick Dowling and Eamonn Coughlan for undecided sporting federations to vote for him.
The winner must receive 19 votes in the first-past-the-post election. The result will be made public almost immediately.
