West Ham have confirmed that the deal to sign Lorenzo Amoruso has fallen through.
The Hammers have failed to agree personal terms with the Rangers defender over a proposed £3million-plus transfer to the London club.
But the Upton Park club were unable to agree personal terms with the Italian and concede that they will not be making any further moves for the player.
"We met the player and could not agree personal terms," said a West Ham spokesman.
"It is as simple as that. We will not be attempting any further negotiations."
Amoruso rejected a similar move to Sunderland in the summer after the Light Blues had agreed a fee with the Wearsiders. But the 29-year-old failed to agree personal terms with the club.
Manager Harry Redknapp had appeared to be on the brink of capturing Amoruso after meeting with him in Florence last week.
Redknapp believed he had seen off the challenge of Lazio for Amoruso's signature but the failure to meet personal demands has seen the deal collapse.
